Every question with the right answer and why. Mistakes first.
Why: Each number is doubled, then 1 is added: 47 × 2 + 1 = 95. Doubling alone gives the tempting 94.
Why: After 7 days it is Wednesday again, and 3 more days make it Saturday.
Why: A group of birds is a flock, and a group of fish is a school.

Your result tells you how many of them you would outscore. This is how their IQs would spread out.
Half the room scores 90–109. Only 2 would score 130 or higher.

It is a real reasoning test, scored the same way for everyone. It is not a clinical assessment, and nothing online is. Here is what that means for how accurate your score is.
Matrix puzzles in the style of Raven’s Progressive Matrices, number series, analogies and logic problems: the same families of questions professional IQ tests use. The methodology shows how every answer is scored.
It gives a fair estimate of how well you reason through these kinds of puzzles on the day. It can’t see creativity, judgement or persistence, and it isn’t a clinical or diagnostic assessment. Average scores have also risen from one generation to the next, so read yours as a position, not a fixed quantity.
No online test gives an official IQ. A professionally administered test such as the Wechsler scale takes 60 to 90 minutes, is given one-to-one and usually costs hundreds of dollars. If a site calls itself “official” or “certified”, be skeptical.
Your score, percentile, reasoning breakdown and every explained answer are free, with no email and no card. We are building an optional app for people who want to train their reasoning over time. This test will stay free.
If you take the test tired or late at night, your score will usually come out lower.
Notifications and noise break concentration on multi-step puzzles. A quiet 15 minutes makes a real difference.
Familiarity with puzzle types adds a few points. Retaking the same test inflates scores, so your first attempt is the most honest.
Verbal questions assume fluent English, and nerves on the day can cost points. Neither changes your actual ability.
IQ scores follow a bell curve. Most people land near the middle, and every 15 points takes you one standard deviation further out.
| IQ score | Classification | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 130+ | Very superior | Top 2% of the population. |
| 120–129 | Superior | Well above average, roughly the top 9%. |
| 110–119 | High average | Above average, roughly the top 25%. |
| 90–109 | Average | Where half of all people score. |
| 80–89 | Low average | Just below the middle of the scale. |
| Below 80 | Below average | Below the typical range on this test. |

A short online test gives an estimate, not a clinical result. Ours uses question types from established reasoning tests and an item-response scoring model, but it has not been checked against a professional IQ test, so treat your score as a well-founded estimate.
The average IQ is 100 and half of all people score between 90 and 109. A score of 110 to 119 is high average, 120 to 129 is superior and 130 or more is in the top 2%.
Yes. After your result you can open every question with your answer, the correct answer and a short explanation of the rule behind it.
The average IQ is 100 by design. About 68% of people score between 85 and 115, and about 95% score between 70 and 130.
Somewhat. A fresh mind, a quiet room and familiarity with the question types can add a few points on the day. Long-term gains come mostly from education and learning, not from brain-training apps.
Your answers are scored with an item response model: each question has a difficulty, harder questions count for more, and your overall ability estimate is placed on the standard IQ scale with a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15.
Tests use different questions, different scoring and sometimes different scales (a standard deviation of 15, 16 or 24). Some also inflate scores to keep people happy. Check which scale a score is on before comparing, and trust tests that explain their method.
No. There is no account, no email and no app download. Your progress and result are saved in your own browser.
It is designed for teenagers and adults. Younger children can try it for fun, but the scale compares results with adults, so a child’s score will not reflect how they compare with their own age group.
